This is how it all started. Grandpa Jensen's gift from last summer arguably became Beckett's most celebrated toy.
A few weeks ago he started taking his first steps with assistance. Last week he did this.
Every day he takes a few more steps. Here's another video from a few days ago.

Beckett Eats a Straw
This was taken a while ago, but he still does this. I'll give bonus points to whoever can identify the song in the background.

10
Beckett loves this walker. He's getting to be a real pro at pushing it around.
Here he's looking kind of sad and showing off his surfer-do.
We've loved hanging with Ava and Abby. We're so happy they aren't moving! Hooray!

Hanging with Jared
Last week I had Jared over for a few hours. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the two boys got along. They really entertained one another. Watching the two of them at this stage (9 months and 1 year) was so much easier than 5 months and 9 months. Now Beckett can escape from Jared if he needs to.
Jared loved Zephyr. Unfortunately he loved her a little too well, and she let him know it. He went home with a couple scratches.

For most of the visit Beckett wanted to be right next to Jared. Hanging out with the big kids is so cool.

Everyone loves the Incrediblock.
Beckett fends for himself.

Goodbye Accord
Maybe you're like me if you would say that losing a car ranks somewhere between losing a dog and losing a goldfish. I certainly won't be mourning like when I lost my boyhood companion of 10 years, but I did feel a familiar bitter-sweet sorrow when I turned over the keys to my trusted auto. I sold the Accord today.
The Accord had an adventurous life. It drove across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. It visited the Mall of America in Minnesota and Dealey Plaza in Dallas. It drove to the Alta ski resort at 8500 feet and to Disneyland at 830 feet. It has been to Virginia Beach and Long Beach, Kitty Hawk and Newport, the Donner Pass and the Salt Flats. It was registered in states from all 4 time zones (California, Utah, Kansas, and Virginia). After 9 years I had driven it over 140,000 miles, most of which were trip miles.
I was sad to see it go, but unlike the dog from my childhood, this companion was sold out for a newer, healthier, and more reliable companion.

Easter Sunday
We had a really nice Easter here. B got some pretty fun stuff in his little basket. He especially liked this sheep with wheels from his Grandma G.
And he started trying to sip from his new sippy cup as soon as he plucked it out of the basket. We had to go fill it with liquid right away.
This evening we went over to some friend's for an egg hunt and dessert. Here are some of my good girl friends from the ward, Carolyn, Jen, Trina, and Jenny.
B likes to ride on Nate's shoulders. There was another picture with Nate smiling, but I just kind of like this one more.

9 Months
Nine months is a long time. At least it sure felt that way when I was pregnant. Now, here's Beckett, a whole nine-months old. Because it was kind of a big day Nate brought home a balloon. Both Beckett and Zephyr loved the balloon, but the joy was short lived. Zephyr popped it that very night.

Here are some other pictures of The Little B showing off his nine-month self.

He has 6 teeth.
He's a standing machine.

Beckett's Goat
Sue's sister Kathy made Beckett a really cute farm quilt and gave him a goat to go with it, which was kind of perfect considering our many trips to the farm and our near constant comments on the number of goats living there. Beckett really loves his stuffed goat.

So the other day Nate told me that he calls Beckett's goat The Zephyr Goat. Do you see the resemblance?
