New Comments

Hey Nate, is there a quick way to see if there are new comments to existing posts?

Yeah, I'm working on a solution now.

Blogger.com only allows one email address to be included in the notification of new posts and new comments.

However, I can reproduce emails through my byu email. So, if you want to be added to the list of people who are notified of new posts and/or new comments, just let me know.

Aaron,

I just made you an administrator, so that you could see what's going on with the settings. We will have to modify my byu account if we are both going to receive updates. It's too bad that blogger.com doesn't give us more functionality. I sensible function would be to notify the owner of the post whenever a comment is made. As far as I can tell, that function is not available. Either you get all the notifications or none at all. The only thing we can separate is the notifications of posts and the notifications of comments.

Currently, I set things up so that you get notified for all posts and all comments. If you want something different, let me know.

You know what? There is another way to quickly see if there are changes to the blog. You can set up an RSS feed. I haven't had much luck with getting those through the firewall at hallmark, but I use them at home. I bet that might be a better solution. I'll take a look at it.

I don't know what an RSS is, but thanks for setting me up as an administrator and also to receive notifications.

No problem. Let me know what works for you.

The rss feed would work great for you if you're using Firefox. If you're using IE it's probably not worth the hassel. You can read more about rss (and atom) on the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28file_format%29).

Okay one last comment on this subject. If you go to the google home page and click on "personalized content" on the upper right hand corner you can add a custom news feed to your Google page. The url is http://stephensclan.blogspot.com/atom.xml (this can also be found on the news feed link on the stephensclan home page). This method will allow you to check for recent posts to the blog every time you go to the google page.
