Beckett Loves Buttons
I'm sure Beckett's deep and abiding love for buttons won't come as a surprise for most people. Especially Nate's family. This kid could push buttons all day long. He whines for me to hold him up to the light switches. He turns the TV on and off. He tries to call people on our cell phones. Don't separate this kid from his remote.
Summertime
Although Nate keeps getting on me for saying it's summer when the first official day of summer isn't until June 21st, for all intents and purposes it's summer here. School is out. The pool is open. We've had a few days of 90 degree weather. I declare, "Summer!"
Beckett loves the pool. He won't even stop his antics for a photo.
Bye-bye.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
The day after the wedding we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. A pretty impressive feat as we were all exhausted from the big event.
The best thing about the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is that you can feed the giraffes their special giraffe crackers. Giraffes have long purple tongues.
The boys really enjoyed the budgie building. My mom is a budgie magnet so we all mooched off the budgies that came to visit her food stick.

Since I last visited, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has added a lot of really great exhibits. We were especially impressed by the new mountain lion, wolf, and grizzly habitats.

For dinner we went to Red Top, a Colorado Springs classic. I include the following picture because on this trip Beckett discovered rice chex, and he would not eat anything else.
All too soon we had to head back to Kansas. Beckett really did well on the drive. Here he is just reading away in his car seat.

Taggart and Danielle
Taggart and Danielle were married this weekend. It was a highly anticipated wedding in the Gillespie household. We are so happy for them both.
The night before the wedding they had a dinner with all the family and their very closest friends. Nate and I (and I'm sure Paige and Peter as well) found the delicious food, stellar cake, and humorous comments from the attendants to be even more flavorful and funny because we had a baby sitter.
Taggart's groomsmen stealthily packed up all the stuff he needed for the big day and took him to Denver right after the dinner. Our favorite exchange from the evening was my mom reminding my brother about something he needed for the next day, and Brandon replying that he had made a list. If you know Brandon than you know that Taggart definitely had everything he needed.

Here's the happy couple right after the ceremony.
Later that night at the reception:
Taggart and his groomsmen, Sean, Tyler, and Brandon, get ready for a photo.
