Beckett is 3

Beckett is 3! I can hardly believe it. This kid has grown up so much this last year. 3 was a really fun birthday because it was the first one that Beckett could really understand. He kept talking about cakes and candles and saying "I am three."

Beckett still loves trains just as much (if not more) than he did when he turned two. I thought it would be fun to take him on a little birthday outing to Wheaton Regional Park so we could ride the miniature train. Here he is waiting in line. He's so excited to see the train.
Just after this picture was taken the train broke down. They couldn't get the train into the station and all the passengers had to hike through the grass. Total bust. Here's the train we were supposed to ride.
Beckett dealt with the disappointment really well. He kept telling us that the train was broken and it needed to be fixed, but we had no tears and no whining. We left the line and went to play on the huge playground and eat our picnic lunch.
Wheaton Regional Park has a crazy huge playground with lots of fun stuff for bigger kids.
Beckett liked climbing on this mountain.
I was impressed that he'd go down the super huge slide.
He showed off his skills on the rope bridge.
We used our train tickets to ride the old-fashioned carousel. It was Beckett's first time on one (mostly because his parents do not like spinny rides). He loved it. He kept saying "Riding a horse. Goin' up and down, Mom!"
We were disappointed about the train, but Wheaton Regional Park is definitely a fun place to visit.

Birthday presents!
Birthday dinner.
B had a loaf of banana bread for his cake. He seriously loves that stuff.
Look at this kid! He's turned into a little boy.
P.S. The little boy is not so little. He's 41 inches tall, off the charts for height, and, at 34 pounds, in the 74% percentile for weight.
